Pics14Our Mission…

We are committed to offer parents a way to provide their teen and young adult children with relevant daily inspiration for healthy living using current technology to effectively communicate to the young generation.

The Beginning…

Less Than 3 Notes [<3 Notes] grew out of a simple idea from a dad of teenagers. In May of 2008, Jay Brooks was traveling in the car with his family, listening to the radio and watching the billboards go by. He was reminded over and over of how difficult it is to grow up today in a world full of media that is constantly telling us that alchohol, sex, drugs, and "things" at the sacrifice of values are going to make us happy and successful in life. One thought clicked with another, then another... and before he knew it he was inspired to start something he knew would touch a lot of lives. As a dad, he was learning first hand the importance of trying to stay in touch with his kids in the changing world of technology. He wanted more than anything to deliver a subtle, consistent reminder to help his kids remember to make good choices in day-to-day life - even in the little things.

With this new vision in mind, Jay filled his friend Steve Place in on the idea who also shares the same passion for using today's technology to reach young people. A single dad of teenage girls, Doug Slagh was the next on board, knowing first hand the challenge every parent faces trying to raise responsible teenagers. In June of 2008, the three, with Jay's wife, Barbara, began pulling the pieces together to turn the vision into a reality.

LT3NHeartLogoWhat's With The Name…

Our name was inspired from a message Jay's daughter received one day from a friend. At the end it was signed with the text language symbol for a heart -- <3 (less than 3). It just seemed like the perfect name, since our purpose is inspired by the unending love all parents share for their kids and our desire is to communicate a relevant message in the language they understand most. When all is said and done, it's because we love them and want nothing but the best for them that we do what we do.
